While everyone is bundled up in the cold, our winter training begins in sunny Miami!
I am home for the holidays and have clocked in a lot of time on the water this month with the domestic ILCA 6 fleet in Miami, FL.
To start off the winter, I took part in a series of camps run by the US Sailing Team throughout December.

My day looked like this:
7:45 AM: Gym session at Train8Nine with the USST
8:45 AM: Team Breakfast
10:00 AM: Presentations from various experts in the sport
12:00 PM: ILCA 6 class briefing
12:45 PM: On the water training
5:00 PM: More presentations
6:00 PM: Team Dinner
Pretty full-on days! It was such a great opportunity for me to get closer and make connections within the US Sailing Team – other athletes, coaches, and partners. There are many athletes within the US Sailing Team, in different classes, with different schedules, so it was nice to be together in one place, get to know each other, and push each other.

The ILCA 6 squad had some amazing days on the water this month. We were sailing out of Miami Yacht Club, and it allowed us to sail in the ocean right off Miami Beach! We trained in all types of conditions from light wind with swell, to heavy wind with big waves.
In the new year, I plan to continue training in Miami. I have the US Open Series coming up, two separate events – one in Fort Lauderdale, and one in Clearwater. These two events will act as a qualifying series for the upcoming Olympic Test event (Marseille in July), the combined World Championship (The Hague in August), and the Pan American Games (Chile in November). These events mark the beginning of the U.S. Olympic Trials. These events are starting routes to potentially qualifying myself and the country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Upcoming Events:
· Jan 13-15- Ft. Lauderdale US Open Series – Ft. Lauderdale, FL
· Feb 2-5 Clearwater US Open Series – Clearwater, FL
I have a big year ahead and 2023 is the year to see all the hard work I’ve put on and off the water. Looking back on 2022 I’m proud of all the progress I’ve made in the first 6 months of my Olympic campaign. I logged a significant amount of hours training and racing this year around the world, representing the United States in Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy. I can’t wait for what’s in store for the 2023 season!
If you’d like to make a contribution to my campaign, click here! I am currently fundraising to help cover costs for the upcoming 2023 season. I love traveling the world training and racing against the international fleet, but unfortunately, it comes with high costs. Any and all donations are very much appreciated!
